Join us for Mountain Girl’s Level 1 fly-fishing clinic designed to give you the knowledge and skills needed for a day on the river!
Thermopolis’s own Elisa Daniels will cover Gear 101 and how to find what you need at your local fly shop, along with lots of hands-on instruction and a casting workshop. We’ll put your skills to use with a half-day of coached fly fishing on the Big Horn River. Don’t have the gear? Don’t worry we have you covered! All you need is a Wyoming fishing license and conservation stamp (we will help you with this).
Here's a list of what we have planned:
Mountain Girl Talk (all things related to fishing, being a woman in the outdoors, and what to expect this weekend).
All the technical fly fishing stuff - knots, gear, flies, fly boxes and rods.
Casting instruction and practice.
Visit a fly shop and learn how to read the board, finding your way around the shop and gear.
How to read the water, entomology and fish handling before fishing
FISHING (of course) on the Big Horn River
Dates: Friday July 19th (6:00 PM-8:30 PM), Saturday, July 20th (10:00 AM-4:00 PM). Saturday lunch included.
